Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0806392A2] The collecting process involves feeding the sheets (2) from the processing points of an insertion machine along a feed line (4). In doing so, at least two of the sheets (2,3) are fed together along the feed line to a collecting point (7). One printed sheet may be transported in a clamping device (6) past the collecting point, with the clamping device opening as it passes. The clamping device may then be sent to pick up another sheet, after which both sheets are gripped by the clamping device. There may be a tracked intermediate conveyor (8) linked to the feed line, whilst a continuous conveyor (9) may be in contact with the opened clamping device.
