[origin: EP0807898A2] Three analog multiplying stages (1-3) each consisting of a differential amplifier with emitter-coupled transistors (e.g. 4,5) receive respective input signals (17-19) at the base of one transistor of each pair while the base of the other is earthed (23). Another multiplying stage (25) is identically constructed to receive a first reference signal from a source (40) and potential divider (41,42). The output of this stage is compared (38) with a second reference signal (Us). The result of the comparison is used to derive the control signals for the current-bank output transistors (28-34) in the coupled emitter circuits of all stages.
