Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0807945A1] The circuit breaker includes an inserted resistance (3) which comprises a stack of discs (3A) surrounded by an insulating sheath (4) and terminated with a metallic flange (6). Its movement involves a fixed electrode (13) cooperating with the end of the main moving contact (16). The arc extinction nozzle (22) and semi-mobile arc contact (30A) are joined together by a ring (26) and biased by a spring (24) in the direction of separation from the fixed arc contact (9A). In the tripped position the two arc contacts are separated by a gap sufficient to ensure isolation but less than that between the fixed electrode and the main moving contact.
