Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0808076A1] The room sound system has a source of right and left stereo signals (R,L) and additional signals (C,S), such as a centre signal (C) and a background signal (S). The additional signals are used for modifying the left and right signals to provide signals which give an all round sound effect. The right and left signals are fed to a stereo speaker pair (PL,LL) via a modification circuit stage (4), before being combined with the additional signals via addition stages (6.1,6.2). A background signal may be fed to a third loudspeaker (SL).
