[origin: DE19504121A1] A rocker stool has a seat (1) and a base (6) with a foot (3). Contact means (5) are centrally arranged below the seat at the end of the foot of the base (6) and are pressed against the floor when the rocker stool is under load. The contact means (5) buttress the rocker stool when the stool is rocked. When the stool is under load, supporting means arranged on the base (6) are elastically deformed and press the contact means (5) against the floor, thus ensuring such a good frictional engagement between the rocker stool and the floor that the rocker stool cannot wander on the floor when it is rocked.
