Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9721277A1] A method and a device for reducing interference in the RF transmission of a wanted signal. The signal quality is reduced by an interfering signal on a terrestrial and satellite RF network. Accordingly, the method comprises and the device is used for: receiving the wanted signal in the presence of the interfering signal to provide a wanted signal received in the presence of the interfering signal, receiving the interfering signal generated by delayed duplication of the interfering signal transmitted by the satellite network to provide a received interfering signal similar to the interfering signal accompanying the wanted signal, and subtracting the received interfering signal from the wanted signal in the presence of the interfering signal to provide a received wanted signal that is free of the interfering signal. The method and device are useful for setting up and operating networks, particularly interactive television networks.
