[origin: EP0808668A2] The applicator includes a counter roller, doctor blade mechanism and contact pressure device with contact pressure element formed in cross-section as a parallelogram body (12) biased by contact pressure force. The preferably spring-elastic parallelogram body is mounted at one end in or on at least one holder (14) and runs parallel to the doctor blade element (6). The parallelogram body has at least three hinged individual elements of which two are equal length and spaced parallel from each other and fixed by the lower ends to one of two bearing points set at predetermined space from each other. The third individual part connects the other two together at their upper ends. The length of the third part measured between the upper articulation points equals the spacing between the two bearing points of the first two parts.
