[origin: EP0808695A2] The tool spindle (5) is driven from the pinion (5) of the motor armature via the planet-carrier of the gear train. The pinion meshes with a gear (2) turning on the tool spindle and which forms parts of the ratchet mechanism (6,7) generating the hammer-blows. Gear teeth (17) rotating with the gear form the sunwheel of the gear train (18), and the gear (2) transmits the axial hammer-blows to the tool spindle via a bearing (16) accommodating the difference between its speed and that of the spindle. The sunwheel teeth can form part of the gear (2) itself, and the bearing can be accommodated between an annular edge on the gear and a shoulder on the spindle.
