Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0808758A1] A pendular suspension system for railway carriages (2,3) has the ends of adjacent carriages mounted on a single bogie (4). One end is connected to a support ring (8S) while the other end is able to tilt relative to it. The relative rotation of the second carriage is obtained by curved guide slots (10S) in the support ring and journals on the second carriage which engage with them. The support ring is mounted on a pivot on a transverse supporting beam (14P) between the two carriages, and a variant of the design can have two support rings with each of the carriages tilting independently relative to them. During operation the degree of carriages' tilt is controlled by means of the bogie via a control system.
