Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0808813A1] Continuous process for fabrication, without solvent, of composite pyrotechnic products is claimed in which ignition products consist notably of liquid binder crosslinked above 40 degrees C and at least one energising solid oxidant filler. Process comprises mixing ignition constituents to obtain a composite homogeneous paste with sufficient viscosity to preserve the geometry of the finished product; shaping intermediate products with the paste; and solidifying the intermediate products by crosslinking the binder. Liquid binder is first mixed with thick solid filler in pulverised form to obtain a pre-mixture with greasy consistence which is then mixed with the energising filler; and all mixing and shaping operations take place below 40 degrees C. Also claimed is an installation for carrying out the process.
