Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0808941A1] To produce a sieve structure, especially for sorting fibre suspensions for papermaking pulp, the reinforcements (1) are structured so that the rods are shaped with a profile where inserted into recesses (4) which gives a fixing action to them. The holding force is at least sufficient to hold them firmly in place so that the rod (2) positions are unchanged in relation to the reinforcement during subsequent production processes. Also claimed is a sieve where the rods are secured within the recesses (4) by a bonding agent (5), so that the rods (2) cannot be detached from the reinforcement (1). Preferably the sieve sorting slits (3) have a max. width of 3 mm or 0.4 mm, at their narrowest points. The recesses (4) into the reinforcements (1) have an inwards taper from the outer surface, followed by an expansion. The inserted rod (2) has a triangular cross section with rounded corners, to give a thickening at the inserted side into the recess. The rods (2) have a shape so that, when inserted, the sorting slit ranges from the narrowest point into an expanded flow cross section in the flow direction. The bonding agent (5) is solder, which solders at a temp. of ≤ 900 degrees C, or ≥ 900 degrees C to build up in a high vacuum. The bonding agent can also be an adhesive where, at the bonding point, the reaction temp. does not exceed 200 degrees C. Or the bonding is by welding. The reinforcement (1) is not yet in its final shape while the rods (2) are inserted into their recesses (4), to be shaped into the final structure with the inserted rods in place which also clamp s the rods (2) in position.
