[origin: EP0808945A2] The sleepers (1) are laid on supporting material (3) in one or more layers accommodated on a base structure, some at least of them being secured by fixing devices (5) anchored in the material. Each device is coupled via a guide (7) to a sleeper, and which allows lengthwise movement of the sleeper in relation to the device when a detachable locking device (8) is released. The guide can also be arranged to allow relative movement in the vertical direction between the two, but not in the sideways direction. Limited vertical movement can be allowed with the locking device engaged. The fixing device can work in a vertical bush sliding in the sleeper lengthwise direction with the locking device released.
