[origin: EP0808965A2] A novel shuttering unit forms arches in wall openings. From its central vertical, telescopically-adjusting brace, pairs of arms extend to each side. Each comprises an upper and a lower stretcher, forming with their end connections, parallelograms. With the brace, these carry an elastically-flexible shuttering strip. The parallelograms maintain clamps at their outer ends constantly in same orientation, to terminate correctly-shaped arches of differing sizes. The shuttering strip, although elastic, has sufficient rigidity for its purpose. It is plastic e.g. polyvinyl chloride, or may be steel or wooden. The strip is clamped at the top of the brace and the outer ends of the parallelograms; it may be fixed permanently to the brace.
