[origin: EP0808992A2] The device has a fixed ring (1) and a rotary ring (2) concentric w.r.t. it whose angular position is varied by a servomotor. The rotary ring has a first control profile (4a) corresp. to a second profile (4b) on the fixed ring to form a control slot (17) between them which is variable to open or close the valve The rotary ring is divided into upper and lower parts which are joined so that separation of two opposing half-ring ends is variable to enable variation of the ring inner dia. to enable some play between the rotary and fixed rings required for rotation.
