Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0809259A2] This flexible heavy power cable is of the type having central reinforcement, surrounded by insulated conductors, with a all-enclosing outer casing. Novel features of the construction include the central reinforcement (3) consisting at least in part of plastic, on which high tensile fibres (7) are laid. Each conductor (9) has a surrounding braid (15). The preferred material for the core, is an ethylene propylene elastomer; for the high tensile fibres, aramid is used.
