[origin: DE19547102A1] A fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines with a valve member axial movable in a valve body and having at one end a valve sealing surface by which it operates together with a fixed valve seat to control an injection cross-section and with at least one valve spring (19) forcing the valve member towards the valve seat which is supported at the other side on a fixed stop. To increase the spring pressure of the valve spring (19) for the same outside diameter, the turns (41) of the helical valve spring (19) have an enlarged circular basic cross-section (y) on which there is a ground portion (43) directed parallel to the spring axis (X) in a region pointing outwards radially to the spring axis (X).
