Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19505318A1] The invention concerns a hold-down spring (1) made of spring wire for disc brakes, in which two brake linings (5, 6) are mounted in one shaft (7) of a brake calliper (8) and secured by a securing pin (9). The hold-down spring is basically T-shaped with a middle securing section (2) and two laterally projecting spring stirrups (3, 4). According to the invention, the middle securing section (2) comprises two adjacent wire sections (10, 11) extending at right angles to and half enclosing the securing pin (9) and terminating in two free wire ends (13, 14) which are supported elastically in the radial direction on the brake calliper (8). At the other end, the two lateral spring stirrups (3, 4) are elastically in contact in the radial direction with the outer narrow sides (21, 22) of the brake lining (5, 6). An electrical cable (24) belonging to a lining-wear warning system is led through the intermediate space between the two middle wire sections (10, 11) and secured in place.
