Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19505779A1] Described is a motor vehicle flap lock with a latch (2) that moves from an open to a lock-in position and vice versa, a pawl (5) that catches and holds the latch in the lock-in position and a spring (7) pretensioning the latch (2) with the pawl (5), which has a control surface (11) at a distance from the detent (9) for the latch (2). An electric motor drive (13) is provided, having a drive member (14) with a driving pin (16) arranged excentrically thereto; through the rotation of the drive member (14) the driving pin (16) strikes the control surface (11) in one direction and lifts the detent (9) of the pawl (5) off the detent (10) of the latch (2). The latch (2) in the open position holds the pawl (5) in the lift-off position. The electric motor drive (13) turns the drive member (14) in the one direction only, and thus the drive member (14) is not reversed. After the pawl (5) has been lifted off, the drive pin (16) moves past the control surface (11). From the perspective of the drive pin (16) running direction, the pawl (5) has, set at a distance behind the control surface (11), a drive pin stop face (18) that lies in the path of, and stops, the drive pin (16) when the pawl (5) is in the lift-off position, but lies outside the path of the drive pin (16) when the pawl (5) is in the locking position. The electric motor drive (13) is switched off when the drive pin (16) strikes the stop face (18) (block mode).
