Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19506384C1] The invention concerns a binding for ski-jumping or ski-touring, in particular Telemark-style skiing, with which the ski-boot is held at the front sole end such that the boot heel can be raised off the ski or off a heel-support member (11) rigid with the ski. The boot is held at the front sole end by a clamping strap (12) or the like which is passed about the boot heel. The two front ends of the clamping strap (12) are connected to a lever (18) which extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the ski and is mounted below the boot sole, in the ball region thereof, on the ski body or a front part of the binding so as to pivot about a pin (19) perpendicular to the ski cover surface (30) or boot sole. If a predetermined angle beyond the precise transverse position is exceeded, the lever (18) disengages from the pivot pin (19). A simple and operationally reliable safety binding is thus produced.
