[origin: EP0812661A2] The device for determining and marking out the required position of nails (47,49) for hanging picture frames (35) has at least one spirit level (15) built into its strip shaped body (3). A slider (21) can move along the body and has a first hole (29) which lies above a slot in the centre of the body. The slot runs parallel to the long edges of the body. The slider has a 'C' shaped form which fits around the body. For exact positioning of the slider on the body, the outside edge of the body has steps which match corresponding surfaces on the inner contour of the slider.
