Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0812667A2] The cutting method involves producing the veneers and thin boards from larger wooden blanks by means of circular cutters working from both sides. The cutters are arranged one behind the other in the same plane. From one cutter to the next, the cutters cut deeper into the wood, so that as the wood is moved relative to the cutters, the board is separated from the remainder of the wood. The cutters may rotate during cutting, or may be fixed, separating the boards solely due to their stepped arrangement and the relative motion of the wood and cutters.
