A second invention relates to paper which is provided on both surfaces thereof with moistureproofing resin layers before or after the paper is passed through a nip portion formed by metallic rolls, under a line pressure of 200 to 2500 kg/cm. A third invention relates to paper which is passed through a nip portion formed by metallic rolls, under a line pressure of 200 to 2500 kg/cm before or after the paper is impregnated with a cellulose fiber cross-linking agent. A fourth invention relates to a method of making a laminate of two or more paper sheets, in which two or more sheets of paper are passed through a nip portion formed by metallic rolls, under a line pressure of 500 to 2500 kg/cm.
