[origin: WO9627835A1] An SNS (305) processes requests for services from one or more customers (180) of a network by sending the service request to an SMS (310). The service request includes a service name and corresponding data collected from the customer. The SMS (310) selects a service management program from a plurality of storage areas based on the function name and executes the service management program to obtain provisioning data. The provisioning data corresponds to the information necessary for a network element (120, 130) to process the network service based on the data collected from the customer (180). Once the provisioning data is determined, the SMS (310) sends the provisioning data to the network element (120, 130). The network element (120, 130) instantiates the requested service based on the provisioning data sent by the SMS (310).
