Abstract (en)
A connector assembly (1) for the registration of connector components (2,3). A plug connector (2) in the assembly (1) has a housing (6) with a top surface defining a mating channel (13) configured in a closed loop. A receptacle connector in the assembly has side walls of the housing configured in a closed loop which are received in the mating channel (13) of the plug connector (2) during mating. Terminals (7) in the plug connector (2) have contact portions disposed along the mating channel (13) which engage respective contact portions of terminals (46) disposed along the side walls of the receptacle connector (3) upon mating. <IMAGE>
