Abstract (en)
[origin: FR2726465A1] The surgical head support, to hold the patient's head, has a main support structure of five tubes (5a-5d) in pairs in an L-shape on a vertical plane parallel to the planes (O,X,Y). The two L-shapes are assembled at their angled lines by a fifth tube (5g). A sixth tube (5e) at the rear section, formed by two horizontal tubes (5a,5b) gives a cushioned support along the OX plane in a chin support action. The upper section of the structure, formed by two vertical tubes (5c,5d), supports a seventh tube (5f) with a cushioned partial support action. The front support (8) is attached to the centre of the horizontal tube (5g) of the main support. The assembly gives a triangulation of the three support zones at the chin, frontal and parietal areas. The vertical support shaft (1) allows the assembly to move on and around the OX axis. The hollow tubes are of epoxy and carbon fibres, glued to shaped nylon bodies, with an Araldite (RTM) epoxy. The other components are of nylon.
