[origin: WO9627009A1] A Human amine transporter polypeptide and DNA (RNA) encoding such polypeptide and a procedure for producing such polypeptide by recombinant techniques is disclosed. Also provided are methods for detecting agonists and antagonists to such polypeptide and the use of agonists and antagonists for treating diseases related to the under-expression and over-expression of the Human amine transporter of the present invention. Also disclosed are methods for detecting mutations in the nucleic acid sequence encoding the polypeptide and for detecting altered levels of the soluble form of the polypeptide.
