[origin: WO9629442A1] A method for heating vessels (1), e.g. galvanisation vessels, for molten metal baths (2), wherein use is made of at least one element (3) consisting of a substantially gas-tight and especially oxygen-tight heat-conducting refractory material, which is directly and continuously contacted with the top surface (4) of the bath (2), a heat source (5) being arranged above or within said element (3) for heating the element and the bath itself, essentially by conduction.
