Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0815756A1] The boot sole has a coupling (21) at its forward end to engage with a fastening on the ski, board or skate, and a shaped section (26, 27) extending towards the rear which is designed to engage with a matching component on the ski, board or skate. The sole is made in two sections (20, 40) which are designed to be fitted to recesses (2, 4) in a boot upper (1) on either side of a downward projection (3). The sole sections can be made from different materials and are fitted to the upper by a guide system (12, 50) which allows them to be removed from it if required. In a variant of the design the front sole section has a slot in it for a bracket attached to the underside of the boot upper.
