[origin: EP0815771A2] The table has legs which are secured to width direction struts (4) moved along length direction profiles (3) on the underside of the tabletop. Clamps (7) at the ends of the struts are tightened to lock them into position between the profiles. Preferably open profile struts are used with L-shaped profiled end regions (9) that form the clamps, one arm (9a) of the L acting as a pivoting or plate whilst the other arm is a fixed plate. Screws or bolts (10) inserted through the fixed plate are used to tighten the clamp arms against the profile. The length direction profiles have a Maltese-cross shaped cross-section.
