Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0816025A2] The scissors has its two limbs (10,12) held together by screw (14) and their cutting edges are heated by DC or AC supplied to the coatings (24,26) from a connection (28) on one of the handles. The same handle carries a conductive spring contact (30) which is pressed against a contact (32) on the other handle when a cutting operation is performed. The limbs are manufactured of steel with a high melting point and their surfaces can be treated to prevent corrosion for particular applications. Their handles can be joined by a flat ribbon cable of symmetrical shape with a bend in the middle.
