Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0816101A2] A process for producing a foam component (10) for use in an ink cartridge (1) for an ink jet printer comprises stamping the component out of a plate and then coating it on opposing side surfaces (12,14). The coating (17) is applied to both sides of the plate before the component is stamped out. The coating preferably comprises a plastic film, and the press plate has an anti-adhesive layer, especially PTFE, applied to it.
