[origin: EP0816229A1] The method involves placing packaging (P) around the items (A). A web (S1,S2) of the packaging is placed each side of the article. One web is arranged with a cold sealing area (Q) against a cold sealing area (Q) of the other web of the unit and the webs are stuck together along the length of the item. The webs are pressed together to complete an air tight seal. The ends of the packaging which extend in the direction of the sealed area (L) are then twisted to form an air tight seal.
