[origin: EP0816281A1] The drive motor (6) for the vehicle lift is located completely inside the lifting struts (1,2) with the axis of the shaft vertical. The drive motor is connected without an intermediate gear and only through a drive belt (8) to the spindle (5) or corresponding drive element. A channel profile is in the form of a sleeve, or produced directly on the free end of the drive motor shaft. Torque transmission is effected via a toothed belt (8) with a tooth spacing conforming to the channel profile.
