Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0816535A1] The galvanic process metal sheet has a structured pattern on one side as a result of being grown over a master pattern. The sheet is grown to a thicker than required state and is placed pattern side down onto a magnetic chuck with a flat surface. Holding the sheet in the chuck allows grinding of the rear surface to produce a parallel or uniform thickness sheet. The structured pattern is protected by a lacquer prior to surface grinding. This lacquer is removed after grinding.
