Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0816617A2] A motor vehicle window glass is connected to its drive mechanism by a holder (10) and a foot (7) which travels along a rigid slideway (3) e.g. of aluminium or is connected to a toothed drive rack. The holder and foot are made from a polymer material which is suitable for mechanical operation and are joined by a flexible connecting piece (15) of reduced cross-section, so that the tolerances imposed by the manufacture and assembly of the components are compensated for by the elastic deformation of the connecting piece. The holder, foot and connecting piece are moulded in one piece from a polymer with a Shore hardness of between A80 and D80, fixed to the glass by screws, adhesive or a clip-together assembly. The polymer is a polyurethane which can be moulded onto the glass by a reaction injection moulding process.
