Abstract (en)
The silencer is formed from two outer half-shells (2,3) and two inner half-shells (4,5), in which an exhaust guide is stamped or moulded. An inlet and outlet for the exhaust is welded onto the edges of the half-shells. Both outer half-shells, and at least one of the inner half-shells, have a common folded edge (9). The edges (10,11) of both inner half-shells may be included directly in a folded edge which has a single stage of folding, or in the first stage of a two-stage fold. Alternatively, only one of the inner half-shells may be bent in order to be included directly in a single-stage fold, while the edge of the other half-shell is clamped inside the fold.

Bei einem Schalldämpfer (1) mit zwei Außenhalbschalen (2, 3) und zwei Innenhalbschalen (4, 5), in welchen eine Abgasführung (6) eingeprägt bzw. eingepreßt ist, sowie einem am Rand der Schalen (2, 3, 4, 5) verschweißten Abgaseintritt (7) und Abgasaustritt (8), wird vorgeschlagen, beide Außenhalbschalen (2, 3) und zumindest eine der Innenhalbschalen (4, 5) mit einem gemeinsam abgewinkelten Umfangsfalz (9) auszubilden. <IMAGE>
