Abstract (en)
The liner (2) is inserted or cast in the cylinder bore of an internal combustion engine. It is reinforced at the rim (4) towards the cylinder-head and/or at the point where reversal of the piston movement takes place. Copper, nickel or an alloy of the two can be diffused into the basic liner material. This can be done by electric-arc welding, plasma welding or laser-impulse welding, or burning in with a laser ray.

Um Dichtungsprobleme bei einem Zylinder mit einer aus einer Aluminiumlegierung hergestellten Zylinderlaufbüchse (2) zu vermeiden, wird diese erfindungsgemäß so ausgebildet, daß die Zylinderlaufbüchse (2) in ihrem zylinderkopfseitigen Randbereich (4) und/oder in dem Bereich (6), in dem der obere Umkehrpunkt eines Kolbens zu liegen kommt, in Umfangsrichtung verstärkt ist. <IMAGE>
