[origin: EP0816680A2] The pump has a rotor (5) with radial slits (9) for holding the blades (11). A contour ring (15) enclosing the blades and forming a suction, precompression and pressure areas is designed so that the kinematic precompression is strong in a conveyor cell. The suction intake opening (21) has a widened area (33) running in the rotary direction and reducing a steep pressure rise in the precompression area (125). The widened area of the opening can be formed as a notch whose tip points in the rotary direction. The widened area extends maximum so that a separation between the intake opening and conveyor opening (29) is ensured through a conveyor cell (17).
