Abstract (en)
A hollow tube (1), concealing wiring, ends in an incandescent bulb (2), and supports, on a ball-bearing (9), a metal disk (7) with radial arms (8). These carry an outer array (3) of freely suspended transparent and highly refractive glass or paste elements, linked peripherally to similar, dependent, arrays below (4, 5, 6). The rotary assembly (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) is driven round by a motor (13), through a friction-drive shaft (16) bearing on the rim of a clear plastic disk (11) glued to the support disk (7). A counter-balance (14) prevents tilting. The motor is powered by an annular photo-electric cell (12) above the bulb - opt., from the mains. Opt., the drive (16, 11) is a by toothed gears. A cylindrical shade with painted views, or a miniature carousel is opt. added to the top rotary section (3).
Abstract (fr)
<IMAGE>
