[origin: WO9629129A1] The caterpillar board (1) proposed is particularly suitable for use on grass slopes. It has caterpillar-type running gear consisting of two slightly concave runners (12) which are joined to each other by four cross-struts (13). The running gear can be attached to a frame (2) made up of tubes or rods. Each runner (12) consists of a longitudinal main body, a flexible belt and a multiplicity of track elements. A block can be mounted on the outside of each track element. When the board is in motion, frictional forces act between the grass and the flexible belts and blocks on the running gear. These forces cause the flexible belts, together with the track elements, to move round the main body of the runners (12) in a closed loop.
