[origin: DE19511752A1] The description relates to a process for the high-resolution evaluation and possibly the recovery of signals from narrow-band signals received by a centre-symmetrical sensor group (AG) to directional estimation and also a process for the high-resolution evaluation of superimposed undamped harmonic signals for spectrum analysis in possibly multi-channel observations. Noise-distorted signals and those distorted by multi-direction diffusion may be prepared for recovery for directional estimation. The directional estimation process of the invention is especially suitable for signal evaluation in mobile radio or wireless communication, high-resolution radar image processing, sonar and technical medical systems. The frequency estimation process of the invention is suitable for image processing applications and a plurality of spectrum analysis purposes.
