[origin: EP0818310A1] The system has a computer (1,2) with at least one re-writable, non-volatile memory (4) and a clock (5) for determining clock time and date. The computer continually interrogates the time and date at defined intervals and stores them in the memory. The values stored in the memory are compared with the current clock values and any differences in excess of a defined threshold are stored in the re-writable, non-volatile memory.
