Abstract (en)

A rolled sheet of material (1), designed so that its edges run in guide rails (13) when it is deployed, has flexible tubes attached to its two lengthwise edges (9) to receive rigid inserts (12). The inserts hold the edges of the sheet in place as they slide along channels in the guide rails (13). The edge tubes are made from a material which gives a low friction coefficient on the inner surface, such as polyester, polyamide, or fibreglass coated with PTFE, and they are attached to the material sheet by sewing or thermal or ultrasound welding. The inserts are e.g. cylindrical in shape with hemispherical ends, and the rails have stops in the form of pegs or magnets to limit their travel.

Abstract (fr)
