[origin: WO9631852A1] A device is proposed for securing articles from theft. The device is simple to manufacture, while being remarkably secure and universally useable. It comprises a first securing part for attachment to an object, a second securing part for attachment to the article and a cable which connects the two securing parts. At least one of the securing parts includes a sensor element for monitoring that the securing part is properly attached to the object or article, and at least one securing part includes monitoring means connected to the sensor element and so designed as to ensure that an alarm is set off if one attachment monitored by the sensor element is disrupted.
