[origin: WO9622633A1] A universal controller that can automatically execute all the control signals of all equipment subject to control is at all times informed as to equipment status and about all current broadcast programs. In ways which can be defined by the user it controls all connected equipment by way of the control interfaces available in each case and in addition provides an input, storage and output function where data is lacking. The type of control can be selected by the user. The program categories and other additional information are produced by the broadcast stations or staff of a central office and broadcast by radio (e.g. shortwave) or provided by remote data transmission. The equipment encompasses suitable receivers, transmitters and decoding processors. The device can be used in any household in the world since it has universal hookup to all equipment and operates independently of standards.
