Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0819488A2] The sliding closure unit incorporates a frame housing (22) accommodating a refractory base plate (25) and a slider plate (26) in a slider assembly (23) which is movable back and forth by means of a drive. The closure unit is characterized by: (a) the frame (22) including the slider and base plates (26, 25) is held slidably in its longitudinal direction on guide rails which are located underneath the outlet (12) and are attached to the container (10); (b) this frame, after sliding through a specified distance, is detachable from the container; and (c) the frame (22) is provided with at least one connector element for releasable coupling to a manipulator which serves for sliding the frame along the guide rails and removing it from the container, and for installing the frame into its position on the guide rails.
