Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0820084A2] The apparatus has a switch rod (3) to be driven by an actuator (21,22). This has an actuator shaft (31) and a switch pad (32) in operative connection with and rotatably mounted on the shaft (31). The switch also has a support lever, a knee lever which acts on movable contacts and a rod holder (33) to hold the switch rod (3) in a lower housing part (4) of the circuit breaker housing (1). In the 'on' position, the support lever is supported against a click rocker. On manually switching off or on faulty release, the switch rod (3) is broken down by a thermal or electromagnetic trigger (5) by disconnecting the rocker from the support lever. A housing upper part (61,62) is connected to the lower part (4) and covers at least the switch rod (3). A first actuator (21) is to be placed in front of the upper part (61,62) and is to be brought into operative connection with the actuator shaft (31). This actuator is formed as a rotary knob. A second actuator (22) formed as a push button is mounted in the housing upper part (62) and is brought into operative connection with the switch pad (32). The first actuator (21) and the second actuator (22) can be used selectively.
