[origin: WO9729660A1] A clasp (1) for a strap (2) having two blades (6, 8) pivotably connected at one end via a common hinge (10). The clasp has a cover (3) and a base (9) releasably arranged around a common rod (11) guided by a transverse arm (6.4) that is solidly connected to the first blade (6). A first strap portion (2.1) is fastened to the second blade (8), and a projection (4) on the base (9) is used to attach a second strap portion (2.2). The connection is strengthened by folding the cover (3) down over the projection (4), and the folded cover (3) and the base (9) are pivotable together relative to the first blade (6) so that the clasp (1) may be opened and the strap (2) removed without undoing said connection.
