[origin: DE19513934A1] A safety device for electronic apparatuses, such as computers, fax machines or the like, has a plug-in part (1) with means (2) for fastening to an input/output (3), in particular a data transmission output of the electronic apparatus. A top (4) with a closing element (5) may be set on the plug-in part (1). The closing element (5) has a lock (16) for locking the top (4) on the plug-in part (1) and/or the electronic apparatus when the top is set on the plug-in part (1). The top (4) is designed in such a way that when it is set on the plug-in part (1) it covers the fastening means (2) of the plug-in part (1) and makes them inaccessible from the outside, thus making it impossible for unauthorized persons to remove the plug-in part (1) when the top is set on the electronic apparatus and locked.
