Abstract (en)
A boot fastening, designed to be hinged at the toe so the heel can be raised for travelling on the flat and fixed for skiing downhill, consists of an elongated member or plate (8) which acts as a support for a toe stop (1) and a heel clamp (2). The plate is pivoted to the ski about a transverse axis at its forward end, which is equipped with a U-shaped component (7), lying on one side and having its lower side made longer than its upper one. The shorter upper side has a hinge for connecting to a fixed component on the ski, and the interior of the U-shaped component contains a safety mechanism for the toe stop. The axis of the hinge can be situated either above or below the U-shaped component.

Cette fixation de ski de randonnée comporte un élément allongé (8) généralement appelé plaque, servant de support à une butée (1) et à une talonnière (2) destiné à maintenir une chaussure. L'élément (8) est articulé autour de l'axe (6) situé au-dessus de son plan au moyen d'une pièce en forme de U couché (7).Cette disposition a pour but de permettre de disposer le mécanisme de déclenchement de la butée avant à l'intérieur du U, afin de mieux protéger ledit mécanisme. <IMAGE>
